My name is Sutharot Plia (she/her); I am a current Studio Art program student at MacEwan University.
I am an emerging Thai artist recently based in amiskwaciwâskahikan or Edmonton in Canada.
I grew up creating items using abandoned materials such as cardboard packaging, water bottle caps,random pieces of fabric, readymade objects, etc.
I am passionate about working with textures and colors; In my art practice, the main themes are environmental, political, femininity, homesickness, and mental health.
I desire to use my voice and artwork to speak about the awareness of those themes because people have different journeys and experiences in their lives.
For the next step, I hope to create a comfortable environment where people can express themselves through art and the community can engage and inspire each other.
